Wet & Dry Detangler

Perfect brushes for your perfect hair

London Locks detangling brushes help you get knots and tangles out, and most of them work wet or dry. There are seven in the range. Six are named after parts of London, and the seventh, the Rainbow Brush, is made for children. The Camden, the Chelsea, the Hampstead and the City are all made for afros and weaves as well as long or short hair. Not sure which one is yours? Start with the chooser below.

Brushing questions

Wet or dry brushing, afro hair, weaves, cleaning your brush and brushes for children.

Can I use the brushes on wet or dry hair?
Yes. The Camden, the Chelsea, the Hampstead, the City and the Richmond can all be used on wet or dry hair. The Islington is our blow dry brush, for styling as you dry. If your hair is curly or coily, you may find it easier to detangle while it’s damp.
How do I detangle afro hair gently?
Work in small sections. Start at the ends and work up towards the roots, so you ease each knot out a little at a time instead of dragging it down the whole length. The Camden and the Chelsea can be used on afros, and their teeth are specially designed to gently unwind knots and tangles.
Can I use a detangling brush on a weave?
Yes. The Camden, the Chelsea, the Hampstead and the City can all be used on an afro or a weave, as well as on long or short hair.
How do I clean my brush?
Our care advice for every brush is the same: “Regularly remove any loose hair and wash in warm soapy water, towel dry. Do not expose brush to prolonged heat.”
Which brush is best for children?
The Rainbow Brush, our kids detangler: “A colourful, fun children’s brush with built in childproof mirror.” The wavy hair pins are specially designed to help detangle and prevent tangled hair.
